Unusual: You may bleed like a heavy period and actually be having a miscarriage. Rarely will the pregnancy just be absorbed by the body. If you have missed a period and have a positive pregnancy test, you need to see a doctor.

Fetal demise: Some people do have a fetal demise with no symptoms. Then if no bleeding or cramping occurs a D&C is generally needed to help complete the miscarriage. Miscarriages most commonly do have symptoms of cramping and bleeding though.

Yes: If you have delayed period, do a pregnancy test. If it is positive, please see a doctor. Miscarriages called medically a missed abortion can be diagnosed on ultrasound. They may not be associated with bleeding or pain or any symptoms.
