about 38 weeks pregnant and leaking a small amount of mucus out of my private area is this normal theres no blood could i be close to labor?

Mucus plug: It sounds like you are passing some cervical mucus. It serves to protect the baby, and can be passed intermittently during pregnancy. It doesn't help to predict when labor will occur. At 38 weeks - you are probably close to labor - most women will labor spontanteously during the 39th week. Hang in there.
