Can't: This caused by the herpes simplex virus and when it occurs expect a 7-10 day duration until it heals. If you have only occasional ulcers there are multiple over the counter medications that can add relief but none stops it from completing the cycle. If they occur more often, then see a physician or dentist and there are drugs to treat it systemically and prevent it from occurring

Mouth ulcer: Try over the counter orabase ointment. If that doesn't work your dentist can prescribe kenalog (triamcinolone) in orabase. It shortens the duration of the ulcer and helps with the pain. Either way you should have your dentist evaluate it.

Mouth sore aid: Good hygiene helps. Often they will last 7-10 days regardless. Zilactin, an over- the-counter oral ointment will ease the pain.
