What does it mean when you get your period 3 times in a month and the next month after that you only get it once?

Abnormal bleeding: Technically, those episodes are not periods. A period is bleeding that occurs approximately 2 weeks after ovulation. Thus, it can naturally occur only once every 3-4 weeks. You have what is called abnormal bleeding. You need an exam and possibly ultrasound/labs to determine what is wrong. Please see an obgyn for complete evaluation.
