Depends: Grades of sprain are classically considered mild-moderate- and severe. Mild is simply a bit of a stretch and heals in 2-4 weeks. A moderate sprain is where the ligaments are partially but not completely torn and these tend to take 4-6 weeks to heal. Severe injures are where the ligament is completely torn and they take 2-3 months to heal if at all.
