A member asked:

What does the ventilator have to read before you can take it off?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Nothing particular: Ventilator readings are preset by the physician...So it does what it is programmed to do. You take it off on the basis of oxygen levels in the blood and pateint's ability to breath on his/her own.
