Yes.: Antidepressants can be very effective in moderate to severe forms of depression. Combined with talk therapy, depression can be effectively treated. Talk to a psychiatrist.

Usually: However, they may not be effective in treatment of bipolar depression. You may a trial of more then one medication and sometimes they need to be augmented.
