Hep B: Chronic active hep b can lead to several bad things such as cancer. Pegasys (peginterferon alfa 2a) (interferon) can ne used. Several HIV meds are also effective. The cure rates are decent. New lab tests can help determine if there is liver fibrosis thus avoiding bx (fibrosure). Us, cancer markers and lft's need to be monitored.

We need more info: Is this acute hep b (you just got ill with it, with jaundice, fatigue, etc) or chronic hep b (you've had it for a while)? If you have a normal immune system, the liver often heals completely from the acute infection and you are no longer infectious. If is is chronic, however, there are treatments available that can help avoid or reverse some of the damage, but you may remain infectious to others.
