School nurse: Medical problems are private and you do not have to disclose the details of your medical issues with people at school or later in life with people at work. You should discuss the issue with the school nurse. If there is a valid medical issue prohibiting you from certain activities the teachers will be informed.

Option: I will assume that the person who asked isn't 44 years old. I agree with Dr. Livingston that you can talk to a school nurse about the situation. Menstrual bleeding need not prevent water activities (tampon/ menstrual cup). But if severity of pain prevents the activity, the nurse can intervene.
