Tetanus symptoms: Early symptoms of tetanus includes difficulty in swallowing followed by muscle aches and pains. Muscles later develop spasms. A rapid heart rate and fever may be present . Also high blood pressure may be present profuse sweating may also occur. Muscles of the jaw may be affected causing the resus sardonicus appearance where the jaw is locked in a peculiar grimace.
