I have 20/30 and 20/40 vision. how do i know which eye is which?

Experimentation: Assuming that; the best corrected vision is 20/30 in one eye and 20/40 in the other. Then look in the distance with best correction and compare the two, using each independent. If an object at the limits of resolution is clear, but blurry with the other eye, then the first eye is 20/30.
