Second opinion: If you are still worried then have another physician take a look as well. Make sure you see an ENT because we specialize in the tonsils and problems associated with them.

See an ENT: A hard lump in the tonsil is usually a dried ball of mucous called a tonsillith. These can be painful and cause bad breath but are harmless. However, it's possible a hard lump in the tonsil is a tumor that requires more treatment. You should see an ENT physician.
