Depends: For an ear infection: you need antibiotics. For "random" pain.. That could be your TMJ or eustachian tube causing problems. If it is your TMJ and the pain is worse when chewing.. You can try some over the counter motrin. If it is more of a pressure/pain you might have when coming down from altitude in a plane, the valsalva maneuver can help.
