No: It is not normal for him to cry all day. I would seek another assessment and keep a record of any thing it may be triggered by. Sometimes the causes are difficult to diagnose. For example it might be gastro esophageal reflux. My heart goes out to him.

Need to know: It is important to figure out WHY he is crying. In my experience, 2 year olds do not cry for no reason. Perhaps, a urinary tract infection, excessive gas, string or thread tied around a toe or finger. Please take him for another evaluation until you can find what is bothering him. You can try ibuprofen, in case his molars are breaking or gas drops for stomach cramping.
