Yes: Personally, i recommend that my varicocelectomy patients avoid lifting anything heavier that 10 ponds for at least 2 weeks. Depending upon the technique used for the repair, this period of restriction may be longer, up to 6 weeks. He should follow his surgeon's recommendations.

No after 2 weeks: Your husband need to have recovery period after surgery, his surgeon should determine how long. Usually two weeks should be sufficient.
