Folliculitis: This is probably a small skin infection that started as folliculitis. I would not remove this lesion but would prefer a topical antibiotic and a warm compress several times per day. I would continue this for 3-5 days; these lesions typically dry up on their own but can leave a bruise on the skin for several months.
