Is there a waiting period between getting the shingles vaccine and having facial laser treatments?

1 week: One week would be a reasonable period. If you are undergoing ablative or fractional laser treatments use oral antivirals as a preventive so that you do not develop a herpes simplex attack during the healing phase.

Shingles and laser: You might allow just a few days after the vaccination before undergoing laser treatment, just so that your body's immune system can focus on responding to the vaccine so you get a good response and protection before the immune cells need to be utuilized for the healing process after the laser treatment. Reactivation of herpes simplex (cold sores) is more of a concern after laser than shingles.
