Speak to surgeon: Pain after lumbar laminectomy is not unusual. This also depends on how recent the surgery is and also if the pain has been pretty much like this all along or if it suddenly got worse. Speak to your surgeon or the doctor covering your surgeon for advice if it is very concerning or if the pain medications given are not effective in the intended dose. Also assuming that wound looks ok.All the best!

Post op Lumbar: Surgery hurts period. Sounds like typical post op back pain/nerve irritation. Unlikely something to be concerned about ie hematoma etc. Just call your surgeon in the morning and check with him or her. If experiencing leg weakness, perianal numbness or bowel and bladder incontinence more of an urgent issue and go to the er.
