Rash: There are different causes of a rash that you describe. It could be tinea ( fungus), nummular eczema, actinic porokeratosis (less like because of your age) , xerosis, to mention a few. It is worthwhile to see a dermatologist for a definitive diagnosis.

Nummular Eczema: Nummular eczema is a dry skin related disorder in which itchy, coin-shaped spots or patches appear on the skin. Treatment is with prescription strength cortisone like vanos or cobex and moisturizers like cerave cream.
