Many possibilities: It is certainly not normal to bleed for 16 days, this may lead to significant anemia. Unfortunately, the cause will be determined only after a thorough history & physical exam that may include an us. Some causes may include, ovarian cyst, fibroid uterus, overgrowth of the lining of the uterus, hormonal imbalance and others. Please see your gynecologist for an evaluation.
