What are some good remedies for a sunburn is very dark red and hurts when touched or the skin moves?

Topical: Aloe vera lotion or a steroid (hydrocortisone) may be used for the irritated skin. Any moisterising lotion may be tried as well. Silvadene (silver sulfadiazine) is another choice, but that is dispensed by prescription.

Prednisone: For very severe sunburns where it develops a sun poisoning like effect systemic or oral stereos are helpful to calm the inflammation. It is best to avoid systemic steroids in diabetics and people with high blood pressure.
