Treat the cause: See an ear nose and throat specialist to hopefully treat post nasal drip. You can also use a tongue blade once per day, especially in the morning when you wake up. As a last resort, there are some prescription mouth rinses that you can use. See the following website for their names: http://smilesapartcosmeticdentist.Com/fresh-breath-control.Htm.

Viral or allergy: Bad breath secondary to a post nasal drip is very common. Not only is it the time of year for viral infections (flu?) but you live in an area of california that has many airborne allergens. Treat the nasal drip, make sure you scape and brush your tongue. An md consult would not go amiss. Good luck!

Gum: Treat the post nasal drip. But in the mean time, use gum (sugar free of course!).
