Doctor can evaluate: A doctor can check to see if there is a medical issue, if a woman has mild menstrual-related symptoms. Many women have some variation of their mucus discharge, of their periods, or a missed period on occasion. Some women feel normal after a few days, but others have bothersome symptoms (such as continued spotting) and go to see a doctor. Symptoms may be due to occasional fluctuations in hormones.

Need labs: A blood pregnancy test is needed. A pregnancy that is not normal could cause these symptoms and the pregnancy hormone level may not be high enough to make the urine test positive. In addition, your gynecologist will be able to determine if other tests are needed to evaluate your abnormal bleeding. Make an appointment for evaluation
