Infection: Gastroenteritis, i.e. Infection of the stomach. In your case, it seems involvement of large intestine. Adhesions from previous surgeries, causing obstruction, increase amount of use of opiates for tx of pain, volvulus, intususseption, poor peristaltic movements due to nerve damage, ischemia of bowel, dehydration, hard stool impaction, etc. Please consult your pcp, GI consultation.
