A member asked:

Can breastfeeding cause my tsh level to go up? before children my tsh was 5.11. after my second child my tsh is now 5.69.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Pregnancy can: Pregnancy can cause changes in the thyroid binding globulin which can change TSH values during that time. Breastfeeding will increase prolactin and "may" have altered your tsh. I would have it checked again in 6 months or after breastfeeding is done.
