Birth control : No, a TSH test is specific to your thyroid and does not cross react with your birth control.

No: The estrogen in birth control pills increase the levels of thyroid hormone binding proteins in the blood. This requires your thyroid to make more hormone to fill up the binding sites. If the thyroid is not working well, it will result in lower blood levels of thyroid hormone and a rise in tsh, the test used to determine hypothyroidism. A rise in TSH with birth control pills means hypothyroidism.
