Maybe. Hard to tell: The medical literature says that onions may help, may not help, or may make breathing worse. Confusing! it looks like it only makes it worse in people with allergies or if they breathe dried onion dust. Some people claim that onion contains a substance that can dilate (expand) the lung bronchi. But according to my quick calculations, you need 30 onions a day to achieve this effect!
