A member asked:

My sons white blood and red blood count was high what does that mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Symptoms?: Without knowing why he got his blood counts checked and what those numbers actually are, it is difficult to know what it means. Your white blood cell count can be elevated when you are fighting an infection (either viral or bacterial). The higher red blood cell count (i would be more worried if this were low) could be due to dehydration (among other things).
