Zero: The handheld doppler is not sensitive enough to pick up heart tones at that early an age.

None: Hand held doppler is capable of picking up heart tones at 10 weeks gestation. Prior to that, ultrasound can be utilized for identifying the heart beat.

Difficult: At six weeks fetus is very small, therefore, ultrasound is the best way to hear heart tones.
