Why is it that my carpal tunnel is worse after surgery?

Ask the surgeon: That is difficult to answer. Have you asked your surgeon the same question? He or she can give you the best explanation.

First, what is worse: Is it the numbness and tingling. Is it pain or stiffness? There are times when during the surgery increase pressure or contact occurs with the nerve this is especially true in more severe cases. There are other times where full blown numbness pre-op turns into dysethesia or painful tingling which may mean an "improvement" in nerve transmission even if it feels worse as before you felt nothing.
