No: Vicodin is the brand name for hydrocodone and Acetaminophen (tylenol). It comes either in regular or extra strength (es). Regular strength contains 500 mg of acetaminophen, and extra strength contains 750 mg of acetaminophen. Too much Acetaminophen can cause liver failure. If the medication isn't working, call your doctor; he can change you to a stronger medication or add something else for pain.

No: Postop buninonectomy pain is typical and if vicodin is not helping then you need to call your doctor and see if there is an alternative pain medication. Taking the medication more than prescribed can be dangerous without consulting your doctor first.

Discuss surgeon.: Consult with you doctor as to what is the maximum recommended amount of that medication in what period of time. You should not exceed the maximum recommended doses as there may be serious complications.
