What is macular degeneration and how can it be prevented?

Two types: 1. Dry: areds vitamins, tobacco cessation. 2. Wet: intravitreal injections of anti-vegf molecules like avastin, lucentis, (ranibizumab) or eylea. There is no prevention, only treatment (and no cure). See an eye doctor regularly (screening), and see a retina specialist if you are diagnosed.
