A member asked:

Does it hurt when a k-wire is removed?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Hopefully not: Ask your doctor! bones are one of the areas of the body that are very hard to make numb. Just giving that medicine hurts & even afterward, there is a kind of deep bone ache that happens with manipulating bones. For that reason, sometimes your entire arm/leg/etc. Will be made numb with regional anesthesia. Your doctor will do all she can to safely minimize the hurt.
