A member asked:

Is it possible to have your fingerprints burnt off?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes but why: Fingerprints can be replaced with trauma or some types of surgery. Why would you want to do this? If you are considering a life of crime, there are a number of ways of identifying you that do not involve fingerprints. The fingers with these ridges are useful for holding objects and other things.
