Not serious: The brown discharge is either a response to the pessary or a little bleeding from a mild erosion of the pessary into the vaginal mucosa. Be sure you are following your doctors recommendation regarding removal and you should be seeing your physician on a routine basis for evaluation of the vagina. It is not dangerous but probably should be looked at.

Not unusual: A pessary may cause irritation to the lining of the vagina so this should resolve in a week or 2.
