See below: A biopsy is a minor surgical procedure to capture a tissue specimen for microscopic analysis. This can be done via a scalpel, a needle, a biopsy 'punch' (like a cookie cutter), or etc. The post-op expectations might be: minor pain, minor swelling, minor bleeding, etc. There may be no after effects at all.
