What are some reasons not to restrain a person going through a seizure?

Injury risk: Seizures can seem very scary and bystanders often think the pt will swallow their tongues, and suffocate. Dental harm occurs when objects are inserted into the mouth. Just position patient on the side, and make sure they do not fall or contact harmful objects. Call 911 if in doubt.
