No: At 8 weeks gestation you should not experience bleeding. However, bleeding in early pregnancy does not necessarily mean an abnormality in the pregnancy. There are other causes of bleeding such as vaginal/cervical infections. You should inform your OB about the bleeding for an evaluation. A sonogram may be done to rule out conditions such as miscarriage and tubal pregnancies.
