?thryoid: Food allergies may exist but not to all of the foods that you eat. Some people get itchy for a variety of reasons and blame the itching on food that they coincidentally eat. Since people in general eat 4 or more time per day (including snacks) and chronic itch conditions can come and go it may be easy to falsely conclude that you are allergic to food when it could be a thyroid problem.
