A member asked:

Is there anything that can reduce the facial scarring from lupus commonly referred to as the butterfly scarring?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Medications: The butterfly rash of lupus is not that common and usually doesn't cause permanent scarring. Dermatologists and rheumatologists sometimes work together to manage the skin problems of lupus patients using both topical and systemic treatments. Lupus patients should also be very careful to apply an spf 30 or higher sun block before going outside.
