Dr. John Ayres

Spine or shingles: This may be a spine condition radiating along the path of the affected nerve, but if there is a rash it may be shingles treatable with valtrex (valacyclovir). Occasionally an intra-abdominal visceral or vascular problem may be the cause. Persistent pain is an indication for seeing a health care provider who can take a thorough history and carry out a proper exam.
