Need doctor input: A person with a clot in chest or a pulmonary embolism most of the time will return to normal. A small number of patients will be left with high blood pressure in the lungs or pulmonary hypertension. This can cause shortness of breath or chest tightness. There are several other possibilities including some related to diseases that increase the risk for blood clots, best to discuss with your doctor.
