50% or worse: The survival rate for all patients with alcoholic hepatitis is 50%, but if she has total liver failure she has a very poor prognosis. There are treatments that can help her survival, but if the liver does not recover she will not either. As ou know, for a transplant she would need to be sober for. 6 months before listing.

Depends!: The severity of the liver damage will be reflected to some extent in the levels of liver function blood tests. Survival depends on the amount of still-functioning liver tissue that remains and the rate of progression of the present liver damage (and if she is still using alcohol). Even your doctor, who knows her and her test results, cannot say with any degree of certainty, but might estimate.
