Drink up: There is nothing you cannot eat or drink with gallstones - it is mostly a genetic predisposition to developing them and if they have not caused any problems so far they may never do so. The only treatment for gallstones is to remove the gallbladder surgically and this is only done if they are causing trouble so drink up!

Of course: Gallstones don't preclude any dietary intake. If one has symptomatic stones, with right upper quadrant abdominal pain, bloating, nausea, and/or back pain, a low fat diet can minimize these symptoms. Carbohydrates don't increase symptoms. If you have no symptoms, as most gallstone patients don't, you don't have to make any changes to your diet.
