What are the risks of doing a rubber band ligation on hemorrhoids?

Some: It is a safe out patient procedure but does have risks. It is usually not painful but if causes thrombosis, that can be painful. If the band falls off too soon, bleeding can occur and rarely, infection. All if these are small risks. Banding/surgery is only necessary when symptoms are really bad and u need to consult with surgeon.
