Best to see a doctor: There are a number of things that could cause groin/hip pain with a numb leg. An arterial clot (an emergency) could cause pain; typically the leg would be pale and cool and painful. A nerve being pinched can also cause pain/numbness. Depending on the setting, it could be important to find out what is pinching the nerve. Proper evaluation of such symptoms requires a physical exam.

? pathology in groin: If the numbness is in thigh on same side as pain, then there may be some problem in groin causing pressure on femoral nerve causing numbness of thigh. See a neurologist.
