?asthma: Infection induced asthma could lead to coughing lasting for weeks after the infection clears. After the infection clears you are left with inflammation that can cause spasm in the lung.I recommend that you see an allergist to check your lungs and do a breathing test. You may also have allergies that contributed to a sinus infection and possibly low grade asthma that worsened with the infection.
