Urticaria: Would sse an allergist who may wish to do some tests depending on your history. If a source is discovered it will need to be avoided. Often one is not and the symptoms can be controlled by the use of over the counter medication called antihistamines. Would ask about the non-sedating ones.

Yes: You need to figure out if there is a trigger. Some triggers for urticaria ( hives ) include: foods, medications, exercise, cold water, and heat.
