No chance: The chance of getting HIV at the dentist's office is essentially zero, provided you're just going there for dental work.

Universal Precaution: Dental offices practice what is known as "universal precautions"... That is, we assume everyone is somehow infected with something. For that reason precautions are taken to insure that all instruments are sterilized, and that there is no cross-contamination between patients by using disposables. Discuss your concerns with your dentist.

Close to zero!: A dentist's office is probably one of the safest places you can go to. The only thing that comes to mind that might be even safer is a hospital operating room or surgicenter. If you like worrying, what about a restaurant or escalator or door handles to stores, etc. Anyway, the answer is practically zero. Trust your dentist and the sterility of his office and procedures or find another dentist.
