Irregular cycles: How were your cycles before birth control pills? Irregular cycles are a sign of anovulation and need to be evaluated for underlying causes. There are several causes for anovulation and your doctor will run some tests to figure out the cause. Based on the underlying cause treatment for fertility can then be done. Always check a pregnancy test when you miss your cycle.
